Wandisa is a specialised child protection organisation designated to provide expert social work services to vulnerable children. Uniquely positioned, we intervene to ensure safe care for children in crises and support vulnerable families. We strive to find a “forever home” for every child in need of a family, because we have seen how adoption transforms lives. We believe children add enormous value to families and societies – “Wandisa” in isiZulu and isiXhosa means “one who adds to the family”. We are honoured to serve children through adoption nationally into South African families and internationally in terms of our accreditation and Hague Intercountry Working Agreements.
Who We Are
What We Do
What We Do
Our phenomenal social workers give their all to prioritise and protect neglected, abused, abandoned, orphaned, and institutionalised “Little People”. Wandisa walks each child through the statutory processes necessary to protect that child and have him/her declared adoptable. Wandisa also counsels birth parents in crisis, finds temporary safe care and interim foster placement options for children, supervises those placements, facilitates reunification where this is best for the child, screens, and equips adoptive parents, matches and refers adoptable children – and provides post-placement services!
Meet The Team

Debbie is the initiator of the Wandisa Child Protection and Adoption NPC, Wybrow-Oliver Attorneys, and the Bayakhanya Foundation NPC. She plays many roles - as a wife, soulmate, and business partner of one, a mom of three through birth and thousands more through legacy.
“I strive to live a life of significance that impacts generations to come, starting with our own family. And yes – having nurtured and then established Wandisa, I do see Wandisa as one of “my babies”! It is an honour to see Wandisa grow and for me to mentor and be part of a dynamic professional team that profoundly influences children’s lives.”
Debbie loves spending time with the special people in her life, travelling, reading, cooking, writing poetry and drinking red wine.
Her life motto: “Always celebrate life’s punctuation marks.”

Debbie and Brad met on the first day of university many years ago, and the rest – as they say – is history. They have been married for 29 years and have been in practice as lawyers together since 1998. Brad is a devoted father to his three children with Debbie, and an attorney who is passionate about serving the best interests of children throughout South Africa. He has been an integral part of Wandisa since its inception.
“I would describe myself as a family man, committed to God, and prioritising our family. My greatest satisfaction is using what I have to serve those around me”.
Brad loves being outdoors, spending time in his garden. He is also a sports enthusiast, and as an ardent supporter of the Sharks and our national team, the Springboks, cites his favourite hobby as watching rugby.
His life motto is: “Service before Self”.

Her life motto is: “what comes, when it comes, will be what it is.”
